Our client is a scale up technology consultancy, and they’re looking for a strong ServiceNow Engineer to join their consulting team on an end client project. You’ll be working within the client’s existing platform and ways of working, so this is as much about fitting into a consulting delivery environment as it is about the ServiceNow build itself.
The opportunity
This is a hands-on platform engineering role, building, configuring and extending ServiceNow as part of a live end client engagement. You’ll be working alongside the client’s own teams, so strong communication and the ability to adapt quickly to someone else’s instance, standards and stakeholders matters as much as the technical build.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing, building and configuring ServiceNow solutions across relevant modules (ITSM, ITOM, CSM or similar, depending on the engagement)
- Developing custom applications, workflows and integrations using Flow Designer, Glide APIs, scripted REST and business rules
- Translating client requirements into scalable, maintainable ServiceNow configuration rather than unnecessary custom code
- Supporting upgrades, instance health and platform best practice, keeping configuration clean and supportable long after you’ve moved on
- Working directly with the end client’s stakeholders and the consultancy’s wider delivery team to keep the engagement on track
- Representing the consultancy well on a client site, building trust with client teams rather than just delivering tickets in isolation
What you’ll bring
- Strong hands on ServiceNow engineering experience essential; configuration and development, not just admin
- Solid scripting ability within the platform; JavaScript, Glide API, business rules, script includes
- Experience with core ITSM processes (incident, problem, change) and how they translate into platform configuration
- ServiceNow certifications a strong plus; CSA, CAD or implementation specialist certifications relevant to the modules in play
- Experience working client side as part of a consulting team, comfortable adapting to someone else’s instance, standards and stakeholders
- Comfortable working fully remote and largely autonomously
